1.should i give it to her in a feeding bottles or by spoon? ALWAYS BY SPOON They can't gauge well when they're full through a bottle and that can lead to lifelong obesity issues.
2.how often should i give it to he once a day twice? Start once a day and wait about a week or two before you add a second feeding.
3.also shes still nursing and I'm trying to switch her to bottles (breastmilk and maybe an occasional supplement) and I dont exactly know how to make the transition easier. any suggestion? Use a latex nipple because it is more skinlike than the silicone and warm the nipple so it isn't cold. Use a premix formula to start with because it is smoother.
4. when should i start giving her juice and food? i heard 6 months but what if cereal and milk dont fill her up? can i start sooner? Juice is very unnecessary and will take away from the beneficial nutrition of breastmilk and formula. You aren't supposed to "fill" a baby with food until almost a year, Food at this age is just to try new tastes and textures and "learn" how to eat

in my situation, My son is going on 8 mo. now... But I started feeding him cereal at 4 1/2 mo. I would feed cereal in the morning and Night.... with bottles in between... I was told to not give him more than 4 oz. of juice or water a day... So at that age I wouldn't really give him either.. I would just do the cereal and milk... Not till he was almost 6 mo. I started feeding him Gerber Stage 1. Cereal in the Morning and a Gerber for Dinner and the rest bottles... Now he eats 3 times a day Stage 2 Gerber, I will give him table food as well... Drinks plenty of Juice and water and still has 4 bottles a day 4 oz. each.. The cereal you should try feeding with a spoon.. to get them used to the spoon.

ok well I heard a million things to, so this is what I did and if you want to use it great, if not your the mom.....
I put it in the bottle (bottle feeders they have a bigger hole) only 2 oz twice a day cause people say that they baby eats it so fast that they will over eat if you do more. Spoon feed babys usually only make it about 2 oz.
then on nursing I would do 1 bottle a day and then finally the kids just want the bottle all the time cause its easier on them.....but not so much on you if your not pumping cause you will get really sore.
(lots of showers can help out)
I would start jucie around 6 months do 1/2 water 1/2 juice so there is less chance of cavitys and the kids are so used to it I still do that for them and I have a 5, 3, and 20 mo old.
Good LUCK

it is recommended that baby be exclusively breastfed for the first 6 months.
that being said:
* food only EVER by spoon.ur teaching them to eat - eating isnt the same as drinking - so why confuse things?
* how often - once a day, not at night in case it upsets bubs tummy - better to have a cranky baby during the day
* switching to bottles - do u still plan to breastfeed at all? if so, i recommend buying a teat that is nothing like a breast. there is a higher chance that the baby will be confused by a "realistic" nipple - better to use one of the "older" style teats. buy a few and play around - see what baby likes.
* jiuce and food - juice - NEVER! milk for the first year, with occasional water during warm weather or when bubs looks thirsty. juice is awful stuff that does no good for babies and toddlers. food, steamed and mashed vegies (pumpkin is a good starter) from the time of introducing cereal - but dont start feeding a baby like its a toddler. milk and milk alone should be the main nutritional focus for the first year.
(im a food nazi with babies!! lol)

There has been a lot of research done on the harms of feeding babies solids too soon. Do your research!

Here is what I did for my babies: I started them on plain rice cereal, and I would feed them by spoon just a couple bites if I got it down bonus! It took practice. As they get older and get more active they desire more food. That's when you introduce more food options. Also they have more teeth and they want more of what you're eating.

I completely avoided juice. Too high in sugar, too bad for teeth. But I did give bottles with water. They really liked that, sometimes they were just really thirsty.

Farley's biscuits. About 6 months old. They are cookie shaped so they can chew on them, plus you can grind them up to make a cereal out of them, I found them really use full.

I made my own baby foods. I wanted the children to be used to my cooking, not some jar food, so you take some ice cube trays, boil a kettle of water and after you wash them, pour the boiled water through to rinse them. Then take dollops of your strained and pureed veggies and fruits soups etc. and put that into the ice cube trays.. presto the perfect amount for your babe.

I hope this helps!

At four months she should be okay using a baby spoon with you doing the feeding, of course. I would give cereal once in the morning and once before bed so that you can get some sleep because the baby will have something solid that will fill him\her up.Can't help on breast to bottle because i can not breastfeed. As far as juice goes I only gave it to my daughter in a sippy cup. It helped bottle break her that the only things she could have in her bottle were water and formula. Ask your doctor to make sure, but these are things that worked for me.

Breast milk until 6 years old unless Dr.Sears says different. After 6, you may begin solids.

all of these questions are things you should ask your child's doctor. i could tell you what I've heard, but then I'd just be another person with a different opinion. when it comes to the sensitive digestive tracks of children, it's best to ask the pediatrician.
