What should I take? Good friend, probably good food, lousy trailor park. What would fit that?

yeah a $5-$10 bottle of wine is good to bring. forget the flowers, most people don't really care for the chore of taking care of those while they're cooking.
Either that or a dessert, Trailer park or no, it's the friends you are coming to see, and you're being cordial by bringing a "gift", but it depends on the friends, how good they are, you may not be expected to bring anything. though if you're pretty casual w/ them you could call and say you're stopping by the store, and ask if there's anything they'd like you to pick up?

Wine ... chocolates ... flowers, or if they're good with plants, try a small bamboo plant ... if you have a Whole Foods market nearby, perhaps some special herbs and spices in little baggies, arranged in a small basket ... a scented candle or those little candle tarts (check www.yankeecandle.com) and a warmer

I usually take a wine and desert I let the host/hostess keep the desert dish as a gift also.

I'd normally say bottle of wine, but since you went out of your way to say it's a trailer park, I'd say a case of Bud Lite would do ya nicely.
