figure out some way to block the sunlight, cover the surface of the pond (at least 75%) with plants, plant small trees around pond
or large shrubs, hang a canopy over it or build a gazebo over it
do you have a filter or fountain?

You've had a very warm summer, algae thrives in warm water, especially if sunlight shines on it.
As the temp cools, the algae will die. ( be sure to clean your filter)
There is an algae killer that is safe for ponds and fish - not expensive - that you might want to use to speed up the process.
We were not happy with the enzyme approach - not effective.
Next year add some water lilies and or water hyacinths to shade the water and change / clean your filter more often.

Your filter out is critical it breaks down Ammonia and nitrite and produces nitrate so in case you haven't any longer have been given a filter out no longer something is being broken down. vegetation can help i be attentive to some individual who makes use of vegetation in a fish tank no filter out yet does water transformations and it works yet he's very experienced. Algae is brought about by ability of Nitrate over feeding and to lots sunlight . that is critical to to maintain a filter out in a pond i does no longer want to objective the plant and water substitute in a pond . A back up plan may well be a Generator I unquestionably have one in case of means outages or you will possibly could do water transformations .

Without chemicals, the only answer is a
re-circulating pump, or circulating fountain. The intake must be protected and the power not too strong. Moving water helps.

If you have string algae (stringy - obviously), find barley straw. I don't know why it works, but it will. It looks just like the straw from wheat. A handful tied together and tossed in the water will work.
