Realistically (except we're talking about comic book characters here) unless they happen to be fighting next to some kryptonite Superman's going to win. Proportional strength and speed of a spider are just not going to match up against Superman's superpowers.
I like Spiderman better though, he's just more interesting.
Really can't see Superman stealing another man's wife, whatever the new movie says. He and Captain America could get together and start a 'truth, justice and the very old fashioned American way club'.

One point to begin, a previous question stated that Superman was born with his powers, he was not. The powers Superman gains is solely due to our yellow sun and nothing else, if removed from the rays of our yellow sun for a prolonged period he is as weak as a normal person.
However in response to the question unless Spidey can block out the sun or get ahold of one of the many forms of Kryptonite (preferably one other than green, because green kills and Spiderman is not a killer by choice) it is most likely going to turn out to be Superman due to his infinite amount of power whilst on our planet.

I would say Superman unless Spiderman got hold of some Kryptonite. He is the Man of Steel, after all.

In the very first cross over between Marvel & DC, they had Supes & Spidey team up. Of course, our heroes had to fight first & Supes came very close to killing Spidey (he actually pulled his punch & still sent Spidey flying through 1/2 dozen skyscrapers!). So I would have to say Superman would win, unless Spiderman was carrying some Kryptonite around, kinda like Batman did for awhile.

Superman, for sure. Spiderman got his 'powers' by being bit by a spider.... Yeah I think Superman would win that fight :)

Superman is the cheapest super hero ever created. He can just do everything. and he has the stupidest weakness.
Superman could win if he avoids those kryptonite rocks behind spidermans back. You know spidey would do it, he's a clever boy.
Let me say again superman sucks so much.

This is no contest at all.
Superman would squash spidey in a few seconds flat.
Maybe when spidey had the power cosmic he could have given superman a run for his money, but even then I would have to pick superman. He is one of the strongest all around characters in the comic book universe. Spidey just doesn't rank up there with him.

Well...actually superman had his butt handed to him once by batman...in the dark knight returns series...but he used kryptonite....
So the question in the spiderman fight is kryptonite or no kryptonite??
With - Spiderman
Without - you would have to be high on drugs to think anyone other than superman.
Actually...let me renigg that answer...even if spiderman stuffed his *** with krptonite...superman would still win...hands down

it's got to be superman, as he is much quicker ( nearly as fast as the flash), much stronger, can fly without needing to be near to a skyscraper, has invulnerable skin, heat vision and very cold breath when needed. Really no contest. Spidey is great against the ordinary man but superman would not break sweat
