In some recent studies, some people complain that they are gaining weight from going to places like McDonald's, Wendy's, Burger King, etc...well duh! Don't eat fast food! However they think that there should be labels with nutrition information on each product. What do you think about this?

I think there should be labels.

This will also help for people with food allergies or sensitivities. For instance, my niece is highly allergic to peanuts and eggs. It would save my sister a lot of time asking people what products do not contain these allergens if there were labels on the products.

Also, it is easier to make healthy choices when you actually know what each selection contains.

I think fast food restaurants should have nutrition labels. It's known fact that u would get fat from eating off from fast food restaurants. With the nutrition labels, any fit interest individuals can enjoy fast food and will be able to remain in shape.

This information is readily available. Most places have it posted on the wall inside the restaurant and have it available on their website. Unfortunately, people just don't care and continue to shove fast food in their mouth.

But, printing in on wrappers *may* have some sort of effect. I know that if I saw 1500 calories and 25 grams of fat everytime I stopped for a quick meal, I might think twice.

McDonald's has nutrition labels now. the amount of carbs and fat will blow your mind! i looked at a quarterpounder's label i was eating at lunch the other day and ended up leaving all of my food spread all over the table and left. i cant remember the exact numbers, but they where very high! no wonder most people are so fat, they are too lazy to go home and cook a good meal. there isn't one excuse for being a fat a** but pure laziness.

I think the FDA should require all restaurants (fast food, chinese, etc) have nutrional labels for each item they serve. I'm dieting, but on occassion, I will splurge, but I still want to know how many calories I'm eating, etc. I'll skip a place if it doesn't have nutritional info.

I know that you can ask for nutritional facts. they have them for you behind the counter. sometimes, they even have a big poster of it on the wall. Everyone already knows the most fast food places are not the most healthy places to eat. they go there for the convenience and the price....not to mention that it does taste good.

Those sort of places generally have a Nutrition chart on their walls.

People who blame these places are making them fat are idiots. Yes, if you eat a double cheeseburger with large fries several times a week, chances are - you will gain weight.

Legally they are not required to print nutrition labels, but all of the restaurants you mention have nutrition information available if you ask for it.

I think it is a good idea. But the fact that people are gaining weight from this isn't the fault of the restaurant. It's the fault of the consumer for not knowing their limitations and not getting enough exercise.

most places have nutrition information available either in the restaurant or online, but i definitely think that they should print the nutrition facts on the wrappers, or at least list the calories, fat, etc on the menu. did you know that quizno's refuses to give out any nutrition information, except for its smallest "light" sandwiches?! it's ridiculous.
