I'm not exactly sure if you mean that your friend is jealous of time you spend with other guys or even the fact that you are more popular or whatever but, I just happen to be doing a lot of reflecting on this and here's some things I realized:

Best friends are always together all the time like siblings. So even when they aren't meaning to compare themselves the comparisons are inevitable. Like someone will say, "How come you aren't dating anyone. Your friend always seems to be dating." Or Twenty people might mention how good your friend looks in some jacket or shirt or something and suddenly you start to notice that no one is saying anything like that to you. In this situation one friend is made to feel less popular or less attractive than the other. This is a really horrible feeling that it is hard to get over because really there is no where for this feeling to go (like they can't yell at you, you didn't do anything and they can't get mad a people for giving you compliments so they just have to suffer in silence) but since there is no where for these feelings to go they come out in catty remarks or the person just wants to spend less time with you. It's a hard situation and there isn't much to do about it but usually it blows over and good friends stay friends because they realize they mean more to each than what other people say.

If your friend can't get over it than maybe she isn't your friend. Just make sure, she knows how much you care about her and acknowledge (without actually saying it) that the situation is difficult for her and try to be little nicer unless of course she's being bitchy then confront her (but don't accuse her of being jealous this will just make her defensive) - just ask her what her deal is... sometimes you'll find that you friend is bothered by something way deeper than you thought, it might not even be you that bothering her.

I had one of those, too. It is because your attention is divided. If she really is a best friend she will understand. Just make sure you are planning time with her as well. Exept in my case, my best friend really was in love with me. I didn't find out until much later. Long after our friendship ended. She would've been a terrible girlfriend, she was way too selfish! ha ha ! And that's exactly what it is.... selfishness... the answer to your question. But if you don't want it to end, talk to her about it. If she really is selfish, she won't get it. Friendship isn't supposed to be selfish. You will find out what kind of friend she really is. I hope she is a good friend and understands.

I could think of 3 reasons...
1. Because she wants to hang out with you but she feels that you are giving more time to guys. (If she has boyfriend who spends lots time with her, she probably won't care much)
2. She doesn't like all the attention you are getting form guys.
3. She love you and wants to be your girlfriend

Because a lot of people tends to forget about the friend once they are ina relationship. And once its over or they get into a fight with the boy/girlfriend, they come back running to you and expect you to pick up the pieces.

simple if you show interest in someone other then them they will get jealous. Now a best, I mean a true best friend wouldn't get jealous they would want to know more about that person.

You should ask her why is she so jealous of you. I think another female should not be jealous of another female but that my opinion. Even though she might have more then you and gets new things every week or so.

Best friends get jealous because someone else is taking up more time with you than they are.
