It's because of people who tell them that they are going to Hell without any valad reasoning besides them saying:"Because God says so". How would they know what god says to begin with? They should be the ones going to Hell for the reason that they speak with "spirits"; a sign of "witchcraft".

Perhaps due to the amount of abuse that certain portions of society inflicts upon them. It is most unfortunate that some people are so closed minded, hateful and scared that they fail to see what wonderful people they (the gays) truly are!
