if skinny sells???

if skinny sells but yet everyone is ticked off with the whole pressure of having to be skinny why dont we the people who they say wont buy a magazine unless the cover girl is skinny , stop buying the mags until they start posting the average size person on the cover???interested to hear others views on this subject.

because the public Demands what it can't have (which is wealthy, power, and beauty). majority of the people do NOT look like celebrities (even celebrities wouldn't look like celebrities w/o their hair and makeup peeps!), so we constantly crave and hunger for all that luxury and opulence.

i do think that we should shift into Health conscious, instead of Weight or Skinny conscious. just cuz u are skinny doesn't mean u are anorexic; but it doesn't necessarily mean healthy either! a lot of people are over OR under the normal weight for their own body type. for example, i think lindsay lohan was a little chubby during the Mean Girls stage, but healthy looking. and if she had maybe exercised a bit to tone up, she would've looked AWESOME. but she lost so much weight that now she looks really sickly, and even her face looks haggard. that is not healthy, even if she lost the weight. therefore, if we focused on HEALTH instead, i think more people would be happy and better looking, regardless of what # is on the scale! :)

Sex sells Period! And Skinny (but not Nicole Richie skinny) is sexy. People buy the mags based on what material it contains and who's on the cover.

I buy magazines for the contents, not for the cover model...I'll buy it whether it has Nicole Richie or Rosie McDonald...
