I was involved in a car accident with a bicyclist. On the police report she was at fault and the only one cited. However my insurance company now says I am 50% at fault. Does this sound right? Can you please advise as to what is the best thing to do?? thanks!

It should be on your Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) as a not-at-fault accident. You still are going to be surcharged on your policy though. It sucks how insurance works, but that's how it is.
I think you need to get more info on what exactly they mean you are 50% at fault. Also get them a copy of that police report if they don't have it, and let them know you were not cited.

I live in FL.

I don't think so. Take a copy of the police report to your insurance company and tell them to show you the contract or papers where it says is always 50% fault on victims.

You will need to check with you state insurance commissioner the number should be in the phone book. If your state is a contributory state it means that whatever percent of the claim that you contributed to causing it to happen you will be liable for,

A bicycle hit your car? I doubt it. If you hit a bike, no matter what the police say, you should take responsibility and pay them for their damages. I was hit as a kid and the person had the same attitude as you.
