I have a feeling that I would like to be in business but am a little short on original ideas. I am a nutritionist (public health sort) but am pretty open to ideas and am by no means stuck on my profession. I have also worked as a manager for some years and consider that I am ok at that. I have spent several years working abroad, in China, Darfur, South Sudan and recently Malawi. Now I want to settle back home. I have thought of trading in organic fruit and vegetables but it is hardly original. I have thought of trying a whole food type restaurant. I am in need of some inspiration and something that would fire me with enthusiasm! Many thanks for suggestions.

your are Nutritionist with exotic abroad travles.

Do a homecooking business, where you prepare and deliver ready to eat nutritional, exotic meals for families.

I would be very intrested in having a company deliver ready to eat meals daily or at least 3-4 times a week.

I have been dreaming of a service like this, I have found only 1 similiar however the chef actually prepared the meal in your kitchen, I just want the chow

there are also the dinner station type places where you put together meals for your family from food that is already prepared, however this is by appointment only and is not as convient as having the meals delivered to your home,

I understand that their would be a price to pay for having homecooked nutritious meals delivered daily, but that is a price I would most willing pay for a good service

Since you have nutritionist background experience. To be in business of your own is also a great idea however expertise to run any business is required.Isn't?Besides you may need some capital to invest that most people donot have.Even though you may arrange an amount of capital but where can you find time to do the research and actually run the business, having your job with it.Here are few suggestions you may look at:
www.nutrilite.com (Organic supplement)
This company is since 1934 and has been affiliated with a parent company Alticor.
You may keep your job and can create an income by using your experience, help from the expertise how to run your own company with affordable investment and no risk.As time will not be a factor because your may have to put 6 to 10 hours a week.

The organic ideas have potential, but they will be hard work and long hours, and require capital to get started.

If you like the field of nutrition, I agree with the first post.
Set up a nutrition consulting/coaching service. If you like to cook, add lessons in nutritious meal preparation as an option. I would look to doctors to get clients. Ask doctors to refer there patients that need help in this area. Pediatricians may also be a good source of client, because they deal with new parents.

If you can get set up where you are approved to take insurance reimbursement, that will remove the cost barrier for some clients, but it will require you to wait for payment.

There may be licensing requirements for this, so that would be something to check out.

Good luck with what ever you choose to pursue.

Peter,

my name's Ryan Wineland. I work with an international Endorsement firm specializing with the wellness and sports nutrition industry. Your nutritionist background could be a great asset for our industry. You'd be an independant agent within the company, and in turn subject to all the tax benefits and so forth that the government allows with privatized-employment.

If you're interested in getting some information about what we're doing...please feel free to contact me @ rwinelanddcinternational@gmail.com or via 866-767-7931.

take care, and whether you take my invite or not...best of luck to you.

Check out this company:

M2C Global

Look at a recent article at

BEVINDUSTRY.COM

“It should come as no surprise that the fastest-growing beverage category would possess the same energy it gives to consumers. Energy Drinks are growing more than twice as fast as any other category, with a 54.3 percent increase in sales for the year ending June 18, according to Information Resources Inc., Chicago.”

Global functional drink volume (MILLIONS OF LITERS)
SUBSECTOR *** 2005 *** FORECAST 2006

SPORTS DRINKS *** 9,767.5 *** 10,498.1
ENERGY DRINKS *** 1,946.2 *** 2,206.8
ELIXIRS *** 331.5 *** 355.3
TOTAL *** 12,045.1 *** 13,060.2
Source: Euromonitor International, 2006

Think of that!!! M2C Global is at the heart of a 13 BILLION liter per year industry. Imagine what it is like to enter a large industry with A.C.T. drinks that work in minutes and last for hours.

If I can be of further assistance, let me know.

Have you considered starting a business like dream diners. They make ready to go meals for working familys or you can make it and they supply all the supplies and cooking equipment in their place of business. You could do the same, but add a nutrional and ethnic twist to it. This concept is very popular in my area

You could open a nutrionist consultancy, sort out people's diets and make them eat healther, something like that. Parents would bring in their fat kids and you tell them to hop on the treadmill and eat apples, that kind of thing.
