While Charles Darwin had theories on human evolution he never found any fossils.

I would have to say that the first person who made a discovery linking humans to primates would be Raymond Dart. In 1924 he discovered a fossil of Australopithecus, which was the first hominid that was bipedal, walked on two instead of four feet.

In 1974, an almost complete hominid skeleton was discovered by Donald Johansen in Hadar, in the Danakil region of northern Ethiopia. The skeleton, named Lucy (the song Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds was playing in camp shortly after the discovery), turned out to be that of a 3.5 million-year-old australopitheceine of an entirely new species.

As previously stated, humans are a type of primate. Since humans developed the nomenclature, generally Linneaus was first, we humans can call any animal anything we want. If we were to be objective, it is obvious that humans are a type of ape closely related to chimpazees. Since many scientists tend to want to put us on top, we were assigned a category all by itself but it is not justified. Some of the previous answers are astounding in their degree of ignorance.

Humans are primates.

However, if you mean 'apes'

Depends on what you mean by 'related'. If you mean a common ancestor, that is a theory with little conclusive evidence to support it. If you mean similar DNA, well there are numerous similarites between ape and human DNA....but some startling differences as well. The similarities can be explained by the theory that similar problems yield similar solutions. The differences, for example the extra chromosomes in apes and the unique chomosomes in both humans and apes, have no explanation via the evolution route.

In my opinion the relation humans have to primates is a result of man's indecency. I think all the cro-magnons and neanderthals and things were mutts made from humans banging primates...

last time i checked no one has made that discover. there are a lot of people that theorize but until they find the missing link to prove the theory we can only guess.
