I play guitar, keys and voice, (yeah, that's an instrument). My advice on the guitar, play everyday, even if it's 15 minutes, when you're starting out. You want to keep the calluses on your fingertips to absorb the pain from the strings. If you break for too long, your fingers will soften again.

I'm 22 and have played many instruments. I own a soprano sax (kenny g's instrument) and two clairnets. I have also played piano and tenor sax. It's good to start on any instrument, it's expands your paitence, your intelligence, and brightens your eyes to music that an average person doesn't recognize. There is a saying" Find something to get excited about, and get excited about it." It's alway good to have a hobby, something to fall back and something to let yourself go to.

I'm in the same boat! I always wanted to learn piano or guitar, but my family never had the money when I was little and now I really suck at reading music........so I guess I'm doomed. Good luck though.

Yes. I play the saxophone. I started at 16 with a hand-me-down sax from my daddy, and for my 21st birthday I got a brand new pink metallic sax with my name engraved on it. It's the same one I play today, seven years later.
