Stress can make your period late, esp. if you're worried about a poss pregnancy, whether it's because you want one or because you don't.

You could be pregnant, one week isn't much of a delay for a doctor's test. Wait a week and go see him if it hasn't come by then.

Have you been under a lot of stress lately? That can sometimes delay a period BUT after reading your details I suggest you take another test just in case or go to the doctor....those tests are faaaarrr more accurate than at home ones! You can still get pregnant even though you are using a barrier such as a condom since they can break or semen can leak out while it's being taken off. It may be true that it takes a year for the synthetic hormones from the pill to leave your system but that doesn't mean that you're still protected. A person can get pregnant while still on the pill so what makes you think you can't when you're off of it? My sister got pregnant while ON the pill. ANYTHING is possible! The only guaranteed way not to get pregnant is just not to have sex. My suggestion would be to get back on your pill AND continue using condoms with it. That's what I have been doing for the past 3 years & I don't have any children yet =)

Saying it takes a year for the pill to leave your system is only a guideline. A friend of mine was pregnant (with twins) within a couple of months of stopping.

Your period could be late for a variety of reasons - are you under any stress? This could make it late.

Your cycle may just be changing - I used to be regular as clockwork (to the hour almost) but my cycle is now more like 33 days than 28.

Also, the fact that you are worrying about it, could be delaying it starting! Stress again. If you have a negative test, relax, try not to worry and it'll probably come!

Everyone is different, the fact that you have a 1 neg result doesn't mean that if you waited another week you would get another one, the fact is the pregnancy hormone was not present at the first test.

I would wait another week, chances are that although late, you period is on it's way.

I had loads of false alarms when I was trying for a baby. After a year though it did finally happen.

Worrying about a late periods can often make ur body perceive pregnancy.

It's probably just stress and your body getting used to not being on the pill anymore. It takes three weeks after conception or a missed period for a pregnancy test to be positive so don't rule it out just yet!

Could be stress. You can get preggers immediately after stopping the pill, so don't believe what you heard.

With both my kids, the test was neg. the first month so wait about 2 weeks and test again if still no Aunt Flo.

its probably your hormones with coming off the pill, but try to relax as the more you stress the longer your period will take to come on, the pill does not always take 12 months to leave your system that is why they say if you have had sickness or diarrhoea whilst taking the pill you should use a condom for a couple of days

If you have any change in your schedule what so ever it could throw off your period. The more you think about it being late it could be longer as well. I would say stop stressing about it and go back to your normal schedule. It should be fine. I went off of birth control last year and my cycle is still out of whack! Good luck!

The pill may leave some traces in your system, but you can get pregnant as soon as you stop. However, you may just be late. It happens to me when the weather changes (this time of year). You might have a blood test to be sure. though, because urine tests are not as accurate.
