She likes me, he thinks I'm cute instead of I wonder what college I will attend. That question, the younger the better. The educated world is changing and passing the uneducated American children. When are we going to get serious and help change our children's thinking?

We've lost the right to even discipline our kids. First people are complaing about the way people are discipling their kids then when the kids start acting the way they are now because they are allowed to do what ever the hell they want..now the same people are wondering what we can do now. i

As a 54 year old man, i still feel like as a society we are always changing. Technology changes, then people change, then the whole world changes. Sometimes for the better. We must be doing somethings right. We live longer, go to space, eat better, the list is long and wonderous. Education has to change with the times. We didnt have computers when i was in school, not even a calculator we could use. Kids for the most part are doing ok. Biggest problems with childrens education, no involvement with the parents. No high expectations from the parents. Check the expectation levels of the asian population. Parents need to be more responsible for the children they make and their education.

How do you know that these kids aren't in college or planning to go? You are not very realistic if you think any teen will not think of the opposite sex. It is a natural step in life. Part of the college experience is meeting people. Maybe things would be better if everyone went to college, got a great job, and never thought with their sexual organs, but thinks would also be better if there was no fighting and everyone was equal. (that won't happen either)
Maybe we should listen to these kids and try to help them as well as educate them on the importance of other things in life!

well hate to say this but america needs to STOP the curve of Education.

In Amerca we tell our children " hey its ok , try your best ... then let them take the test and if the scores are not high enough for ALL to pass then we adjust the learning curve to accommadate those who failed.

This must stop ... either the children learn how to read and do math or they will be passed by . plane and simple.

Children have to learn their math - reading and writing.I can remember being told if you dont buckle down on your studies young man you will go NO WHERE in lfie !

NOw a days our children play sports BUT all get awards .... now they do not compete BUT they interact .

Well the rest of the world is COMPETEING to wipe us out and we are losing the fight.

The USA use to be a nation of ANSWERS and now we are seeking answers to questions we once had the answer too .

Why because the USA education program is failing , we got teachers who want MORE pay but do not want to be accountable for their actions .They feel they teach and have the important job of shaping our future citizens , true they do , but they also should be willing to take a test to prove they KNOW the subject they teach. After all they give their students tests to see if they learned their studies, same issue applies to teachers.

Also the Governement needs to STOP the Bell Curve , this is only dropping the standard of education NOT improving it .

How many times have you read or heard of a College student gaining entry to a university only to find out he / she cant read - write above the 8th grade lvl.How did this happen ? Where did the system fail the student ?
Bell Curve helped them pass him and some teachers passed him/her just to get rid of the body and cared less about the mind of that student.
This has to stop and we must take steps to educate our chidlren properly or I see far worse things happening then the USA not being the smartest kid on the block.

As a parent, one must take an active role in inculcating proper values in the children. If this task is left to the American public education system, the child will not be properly educated; but far worse, they will be brainwashed into liberalism and victimhood.

Well, going to college is a choice. Not a requirement. (Although you can't get very far with a high school diploma, it is better than a GED or nothing at all.)

Still, I see and agree with your concern. It is best if one gets some form of college degree.

(I have an Associate's degree, but now I'm working on my Bachelor's. Again, I am doing this by choice - not by requirement.)

I agree! Have you read some of the silly questions here?? Half of the kids here, cant spell!! (even better....cant use spell check!)

Parents need to start putting a foot in their childrens behind and cutting the hours they spend on the internet and video games.

alot of people are trying to help the young see. yet the world is filled with wickedness and there is only so much you can do to draw them to the good. Be patient- and loving- regardless.
