The cost to produce soft drinks is extremely low and they make a profit at any price.
I've paid as low as $2.00 for a 12 pack of Pepsi or Coke and as high as $4.75 a 16 ounce bottle of Coke at Yankee Stadium.
They make money either way, what a business.
And they are very good for you, NOT!

Soda is soooooo cheap to make. I worked in a restaurant for a while, and the sodas were by far our most profitable item. It only cost us a few cents to serve one (including the cup,) but we could charge a few bucks for it. For the soda factories, the cost is even LESS and they sell by the MILLIONS. We're talking about profit margins of several thousand percent.
