The resentment has been in the Muslim world long before this war started..,the Achille Loro, the Marine barracks bombing, the wtc twice, uss cole, somalia. And sorry dont feel any more for the poor residents of New Orleans, our govt gave them debit cards and that was abused. The local authority failed to help people out of their houses, yet a 14 year old boy could hot wire a school bus and got the elderly and disabled out of his neighborhood.Strange that a 14 year old could accomplish more than the half witted Mayor of New Orleans. They want to screw people and blame it on Bush???come on.;.,and how could aid be sent in when they had idiots shooting at the helicopters trying to rescue people.I dont feel sorry for people that dont wan to help themselves.

1st,
Posse laws would not allow the US military to operate.
2nd,
The National Guard was there after the Gov. of LA got off her *** and decided to put politics aside, and let the Federal Gov. help.
3rd,
If Bush had acted by ignoring posse laws and/or sending in the Guard before Gov. of LA approval, you would finally have grounds to impeach him as he would have broken the law.
4th,
We are winning in both theaters. I do not know what you mean by a shameful withdrawal, but you might want to read up on some history of other wars as compared to these wars.
5th,
Extremism has always been on the rise. Iraq is an excuse, but another would be found otherwise. If you are going to cite the "experts" you should read the whole document. If you are honest, it will change your mind as you will see only selective bits of the report were leaked. Read the whole report, recently declassified, and decide for yourself what the experts really said.

I think that declaring war on New Orleans would be a mistake. Of course, it wouldn't have been a shameless withdrawl. You don't need 100,000 troops to evacuate a city.
There was deep resentment in the Muslim world long before Iraq. We weren't in Iraq 9/11. The militants will stop if they see it as a path to defeat. Which is what the NIE said.

Definitely a missed opportunity and a failure to provide necessary support. Considering many important issues related to Katrina remain unresolved many might conclude that the lack of meaningful help has been a deliberate action of allowing nature to do some social reorganization that the government desired.

we all live in a yellow submarine.
for some reason that song comes to mind.
We can go to New Orleans, eat tree bark, and wear flowers, and watch all of our troubles melt away.

There is no shame now, except for losers like you that are not now nor ever did serve anyway. More the shame on you for sitting on your rear while others place their lives on the line for you.

Yes it was like that. Bush should've used the Katrina emergency to bring our troops of that horrific Iraqi quagmire that he created himself! Instead, the chance was missed altogether because of his incompetency!!
