Good question. By "people" I assume you mean Christians. As a Christian I know we start out living for God, but get swept into ungodly activities brought on by pressures from friends and acquaintances. It can also be from the general pressures of daily living. Pressures created by heavy traffic, a boss breathing down your neck, stressing over a deadline that won't be met, etc. From all the pressures we forget and lose track of how we should really be living and acting.

People don't die for God, they die because of God. God has the power to make people live forever, yet we don't, so it's God's fault, that bastard!

President Bullshit wants to live "for God", and, according to him, other people "should die for God". Suicide bombers die for 72 virgins in heaven, unlike Penis Clinton, the bomber of the Balkans, who has his (72, less or more?) Monica Lewinskys here on Earth.

Dying's a lot easier. And there's something about religion that sucks the joy out of life and makes people WANT to die.

Christians are supposed to live for God. But on that same note if someone says to deny Christ/God they aren't supposed to do that. Often this has implied death if they stand their ground. I don't believe in forcing someone else to die for Christ. But Christians are supposed to stand up for what they believe in, and if that means death so be it.

You know, that's a REALLY GOOD question!!
Maybe because some people imagine it's easier to DIE (boom , blast, it's over) that to LIVE (that's hard work!)
I wonder.

Wow, that really is a great question. Paul said "for me to live is Christ, to die is gain." so actually, our living is just Christ being lived out through us!

I never really did figure out why... when some religions say that god said "don't kill" and they go out into the public markets with bombs strapped to themselves.....
I guess that's what faith is huh?
can't fathom it but then i'm an athiest and don't have faith.
