My one and only tattoo is of the paw print of my best friend black lab. We rescued each other several years ago and she died a year ago. I have her pawprint on my right thigh, a few inches above my knee.
Before she died I put her paw on a black ink stamp pad, and 'stamped' the image on a piece of paper. (I was afraid she would die soon.)
I still miss her. I always will.

I've got three w/ more to come...
My first one is a treble clef with a purple rose winding through it on my right shoulder blade. My best friend and I designed this in high school. We both sing so thats where the treble clef came from, my favorite flower is the rose and my favorite color is purple. This tattoo for me, symbolizes the true friendship/sisterhood we have shared for over a decade.
My second one is a tribal style plumeria blossom on the back of my neck. I got this in Hawaii a few years ago... I love the laid back way of life in Hawaii and this tattoo was my way of showing my island side :)
My latest one is a gorgeous butterfly just above my right ankle. To me, the butterfly symbolizes perserverence and rebirth. I've been through a really rough past couple years and my butterfly reminds me of the struggles I've been through and the beautiful person I've become because of them.
I will be getting #4 in November from my good friend Wit in Boise...he did the butterfly too... It will most likely be the beginning of a sleeve...but so far, I'm only sure about the centerpiece. It will be the Kanji symbols for "Faith, Hope, and Love". 3 traits we all need to survive, and three traits that are extremely important to me.
All of my tattoos, current and future, will always mean something to me. They are all a part of who I am & what I believe...

I've got three.
The first is on my right shoulder blade. It is an equal-armed cross with rounded edges. A trinity symbol is in each arm. In the middle of the cross is a rose. I got the tattoo from a stone carving in a cathedral in Great Britain. If you want to see the exact design, search Yahoo for a Templar cross, then look for an image in stone. It signifies my religion.
The second is a cross of sorts in a dreamcatcher. It is on my left shoulder blade to counter my first tattoo. It was my sister-in-law's design. The cross is much like the iron cross but with an extended bottom. This tattoo signifies that my family is the foundation of my life.
The third tattoo is technically unfinished. It is a cross with a snake wrapping around the form. This tattoo, while being unfinished, is already dedicated to my father. It is honor of his life, cut far too short in my stead. I am waiting to add the words "In Memoriam Patris" in an arc above the tattoo. It will complement the date "1956-2003". There you have it, a Celtic styled cross on my right shoulder, a cross encircled by a dreamcatcher on my left, and a crucified serpent on my spine. May the ink continue to flow as long as my life holds meaning.

On my lower back I have a tatto with a blue butterfly in the center (butterflies seem generic, I know, but the blue butterfly is the symbol of rebirth and change), and on either side there are these 2 tribal curves, which are actually two halves of a tribal heart, and withing the tribal are the initials of my hubby (J) and my sons (K and k).
Here's a photo, although it's not a good one (it was taken right after I had it done, so the ointment made the flash reflect on my back).

I have a neat looking butterfly on my right ankle which is colored in hot pink and purple, just because I like butterflies. It is actually a cover-up of the name Reba (which is an old nickname of mine)...you can't even see that name anymore...thank goodness...the guy that did it is very talented. I hope to get another one on my shoulderblade soon, but not sure what of yet. Maybe angel wings or something similar. =)

I have 2:
One on my lower back of a tribal butterfly and one on my right breast of a rose.
I got the one on my breast first. It was something I did with my ex-step daughter. And the one on my lower back matches one my daughter got in the same place. My brother and my oldest son are both tattoo artists. My brother did our tattoo's.
