I may be moving there so details would be great. What kind of taxes do they have to pay, what's the night life like, what's the rent for a decent apartment, weather, what the people are like. You know typical stuff. The more information the better.

It is a pretty big city. They have great night life. Apartments can be expensive. My brother lives there and he pays $1250.. a month for a 2 bedroom. The people are about the same as in any big city some good some bad. My brother has lived there for about 5 years ever since he started teaching at the collage. He likes it. I do know that I hate the traffic when we go to visit him. It can be really heavy at times. We live in Palm Springs, CA. It is about 75 miles from Riverside. And I go to visit my brother. I have gotten caught up in some really awful traffic jams. He says that is what he dislikes the most about living there. The traffic due to high population and poor road and freeway management.
I hope this helps. You could look it up by doing a Goggle search for the city and state. It will give you most of the information you need.

Traffic is ridiculous, rent is around $1200-1300 for a small apartment (like the other girl said) but its alot cheaper than orange county. The weather is hot, humid, and extremely smoggy and the air quality is pretty bad. People are the same as any other people I';ve ever met. Most of them are people that used to live in OC and moved there because its cheaper. As far as I know there is not much nightlife. If you want to move to Southern California and you're young without kids then I would recoment moving to Orange County. The air is a million times better and the rent is only about 100 to 200 more. If youre going to move to California, moving to Riverside isnt worth it because all the "fun" is in Orange County and youd hafta sit in traffic for 1-3 hours just to get to the beach.

It depends on what part of Riverside County you are moving to..Some areas (more than others) are mostly run down and "ghetto" and other newly build area are beautiful. I live in Mira Loma and there are new developments everywhere but then again there are alot of farm land also. Traffic is pretty bad at times because of the 91 freeway gets so back up for travelers. Cost of lively is a little expensive. Maybe about $1,000 for a one bedroom but it might be cheaper if you find a room-mate and split the rent. Nightlife is not so exciting, i often drive to LA to party, fine dining and so on. I have yet to find a great place to hang out besides the mall at Rancho Cucamongo called Victoria Gardens and a few clubs. Let me know if you need more info..where are you moving from?....

Born & raised there; lived there for my first thirty years.
The weather is hot (about 10 degrees hotter than LA) and the smog is pretty bad in the summer (they get all of LA's waiste).
Almost no night life; they close up at 9 PM.
Riverside suffers from "traffic interruptus": the 91 freeway is their main freeway and it's one of the most crowded in the world (the 60 &10 are the other two and they're pretty bad as well).
