The older members of my family always say that you shouldn't mix with people that you are better than. They are not speaking of Latinos, but I think the thought is the same. I wouldn't ask help from someone that I consider to be lower down on the "social ladder" simply because I feel that I've had it better than them all my life and they deserve what they have.

Edit to add;
~**~AisLiNn~**~ how can it be wrong to not ask for help from those that has always had less than yoursef? I have always been safe economically and I can't see why anyone that has struggled hard all their life to make their money should be obliged to help me.
That I "create a culture of corruption and hate" is a bit harsh of you to say since you don't know me or my values.
I see taking help from someone that has had it worse than me all their life as abusing the gift. Is that really so hard to understand?

Edit;
~**~AisLiNn~**~ Ok I understand, you don't like that I think I'm lucky to have had more money than some. That's OK really. That I concider someone to be lower down at the "social ladder" doesn't not mean that I think I'm better (or worse) than them. I just see it as society see it. Read again. I never said that I think of myself as a person to be better than them, I said that I have had it better because of where I am. There is a difference.

And no, I never saw you calling me stupid and I never thought so. I just didn't understand where your attack came from, but now I know.

LOSS down there should be LOSER. No one person is better than any other person no matter what there social standing is. Giving and receiving help is everyone's social responsibility--no matter who, what, or where we are at in this life. It is those people who think like LOSS that create a culture of corruption and hate in our society. Take help when you truly need it from whomever that may be, but do not abuse that gift.

LOSS--Your response screams the kind of person you are and does not require me to know you as it already tells your story. Our lives are not always stable and money can be lost in a New York minute if we take if for grantit. Never think for one moment that you will never need another's help in one form or another. What offended me the most about you is your belief that you stand above people be it financially or in some other capacity. I have an MBA, but I have not called you stupid.

No, I'd never need help that bad. I don't freeride off of anyone either, I also have a real career, don't suck out welfare from real Americans that really need it either. You sure seem to ask a lot of questions about your race, hope your not thinking we need you all here, never have never will. America has always been strong, remember that.

Yes. Absolutely.
Asking a question like that solicits prejudice.

Let's all assume that MOST poeple are not prejudiced. That way the few idiots who are will stick out like sore thumbs and we can all avoid them.

If I needed help, I would ask whom ever I thought could help me, be them Latino, African American, Arabic, or any other race.

What a weird question. I don't really see what a person's race would have to do with it. It would just depend on what kind of person they were.
