How did they do that? Do they have a keyboard with Chinese symbols like we have a keyboard with letters.

I work right next to a Chinese guy, so I asked him when I read this question. This is what he said:

There is a type of keyboard with Chinese symbols, but there are too many sysmbols in the Chinese language to fit on any keyboard. What they do is put the basic elements that make up the symbols, and you type in a combination of them to create the symbol. It supposedly very hard to use, and you literally have to be trained to properly use one.

Now one thing people don't realize is that the Chinese first learn how to read and write using alpha characters (like our alphabet). Its considered very simple, and is used for learning purposes only. They use these letters to write out the pronounciation of each word. There is software out there that will interpret these pronounciations, and convert them to Chinese characters.

Another popular method is a digital pad that allows you to write down the letters with a stylus (like a PDA). Lastly, many people just use voice recognition software. He said the computer seems to be much more accurate at interpreting Chinese than English!

I hope this answers your question!!

很可能会 (yes this is very possible), You have to modify the Dvorak language settings in order to do that.
