The way I remember it is about a third were against any action in Iraq, a third were in favor as long as it was with the UN and a third were in favor of us going in unilaterally.
I don't recall the numbers for Afghanistan.

Nope.
The administration's rhetoric associated the Iraq government with the 9/11 attacks to marginalize their political opponents. The Republican rhetoric associated Resistance to attack Iraq with alliance to Al-Quaida.
I'm not excusing the Democrats in congress, but they supported the war knowing they were the minority party. The resolution to invade Iraq would have passed with no Democrat supporting it. It would have only hurt them politically.
Political pressures make support of the resolution to go to war seem much more popular than it was.

Those are the statistics only if you ask someone in the Bush administartion. If you ask the people...The only war we actually wanted was afghanistan in retalliation for 9/11. And I think more than 80% supported that.

Most of the people believed in the government and news reports that Saddam had wmd's and we needed to invade .That they managed to link Saddam somehow in the minds of the people as a conspirator in 9-11 is beyond me but the link was established in our minds .
I think what we wanted was bin ladens head on a stick and Bush wanted the oil fields .
Several years latter we have nothing to show for it but death destruction and murder and blood all over Bushes hands

Afghanistan-yes
Iraq-no
It is astonishing to me that the rewriting of history has happened before our very eyes. I knew they were trying to do this before Congress approved going into Iraq, and damned if they haven't been largely successful!
