Of course not. If someone does not study math it doesn't mean that their life is meaningless.

maths is the queen of all sciences ,it comes to play in simple chores of life, A person may be talented in so many other aspects of life, but the knowledge of maths is important and a must.It may not be the only goal in life because life has other aspects........but the basic knowledge helps to be more aware and alert.

Balance a check book.
Hopefully compute interest, on loans or deposits.
Compute our utility bills for accuracy.
Check our mileage per gallon for our cars.
Compute our cost for cell phones by minutes.
Compute long distance charges.
Compute the square footage in our house, for materials etc.
Compute the cost for making a garment, based on cost of material per yard, and the width of material.
Compute the most economical size to purchase groceries.
Compute miles for a trip.

Not really. But it is very exciting. Most discoveries in world have been made by physicists who were also great mathematicians. It is in fact the heart of all sciences.
