walking on the side walk when people have water sprinkler on?

does anybody else get annoyed walking on the sidewalk and having to avoid water sprinklers? Everytime I walked down the street this summer at least 3 houses on every block people had these huge water sprinklers on that went out into the sidewalk and sometimes into the street. I try to cross the street to avoid them but they also have water sprinklers and I have to cross the street again. I don't want to jaywalk because my city fines you and in some cases arrest you for that. I s there anyway people could use smaller water sprinklers that don't go into the sidewalk?

If that's your only complaint in life, you're doing good. Be thankful they can water. We are in a drought for 2 years and cannot water except certain days on certain hours. The ground has 4 inch cracks in it that can swallow a small dog and brush fires are everywhere. Enjoy the water while you can! I'd love to walk through the sprinklers "everyday".

It is not only annoying but also a reckless squandering of a very precious resource. Gardeners should use care and courtesy near side walks to make sure that only the plants are watered with either soaker hoses or low set fan sprinklers, which can be set to water only to one side allowing the water pressure to regulate the distance of the spray.

First off deal with it or ask the tenants to set the sprinkler to run in 3/4 motion. Also jaywalking is nothing more than a ticketable offense (misdemenor), you cannot be arrested unless you are drunk or get irate with the cops or have an outstanding warrant.

I like to run through them. Water hasn't killed or melted me yet. When it's warm, water is beautiful, whether it be rain or water sprinklers. Live your life! Run through them with reckless abandon!
