Yes, because the media would play it over and over and over again like they have 9/11. Then they would call in analysts from all over the world. It would get pretty tiresome, and I would feel sorry for their children who are old enough to understand what they are seeing on the television if they happen to see it come on. Flip sides with her...if it had happened to you and your children were young, would you want them to have to watch your death on the television over and over again harped on by the media and public like that?

I agree that it should not be seen by the public. This is a man dying doing what he loved most in life. It's not like those stupid drinking and driving movies they show teens before proms (although the one I saw had dummies). We won't learn anything from it. He didn't do anything wrong that we could say "Don't ever do this". I think his story and legacy alone are enough to prove that we need to be aware of our surroundings. We are not alone in the world. We share it with millions of creatures and some have the ability to potentially be lethal.
Actually, they have played the audio from that guy that loved grizzly bears, but was then eaten by one. The camera had been on, but the lens cap hadn't been removed (thank god). Nothing was learned from that. It was also horrible to listen to.
In the end, I think knowing that he died from a sting ray is enough. I don't need to see it.

Ofcourse, I don't believe that the tape should ever be aired on TV. The poor children. Can you imagine what it would be like if your fathers death was replayed on TV to entertain the public? Never, I respect her decision.

Yes. The tape should be destroyed if it has not been yet. If you saw any of her interview, her grief is very raw. She should never have to worry about turning on the television and having that piece of video come on to reopen the pain for either her, her children, or any of his family.
If your loved one died in front of a video camera, would you ever want to see the pictures?

I agree with her as its some of the most personal moments that need'nt be refreshed by airing those visuals as it's not going to add to any value add to the viewiers as its nature striking back and no learnings there either

Yes I agree with her. BUT it will. I guarantee the paparazzi are working very hard to get a copy of that tape.
The only way she will guarantee that, is if they have already destroyed the tape. Otherwise someone is just waiting for things to relax so they can sell it to the highest bidder.

If you are saying do I agree that it won't come out, I am not sure.
If you're asking if I respect her decision not to air it, yes I do. I think his family should be the one to decide. I can thoroughly understand her not wanting that viewed, as I am sure it's just horrific for her and her family.

Yes. But then I don't think that anything that Steve Irwin has done should ever have been aired.

I agree with her totally. Something that private shouldn't be made public.
