Gore is not a scientist. He is a figurehead, perhaps even a good figurehead, but he cannot really bring arguments and discuss issues from tha sceintific point of view. All he can do is report on what other people found, and that is not the best position that can lead to a real debate.

Who offered to debate him? Why would he be the one to debate the underlying science of global climate change? He is not a scientist, after all. He has taken up a cause that he feels (as many of us all over the world do) is crucial to the survival of every living thing on this planet, and he's done a pretty good job of getting the word out. Why should he debate anyone about it?
The big wife kiss during his run for president was schtick, global warming is not schtick. Anyone who wants a serious debate on the subject would, I would hope, look to actual scientists for the arguments, not politicians, any seventh grader could tell you that. So what are you looking for, a pissing match between Al Gore and Ann Coulter( I hear she has the equipment) that would only result in making everybody want to puke? And what is this "Real Inconvenient Truth" you spew about, have you made that up in your head yet? Your fantasy world is melting dude.

Some on the left have pointed out in his defense, he is not a scientists and this is the best they can do to defend him. If he is not, then why does he pretend to be an expert. Unfortunately, it is no longer a case of a man simply trying to do what is right, it is the case of a tired old failed politician taking advantage of those too eager to believe the worst and too guilt ridden to object. Gore isn't merely mistaken, he is a liar or he is insane or both. He ignores facts that don't agree with him. He ignores scientist that are brave enough to be skeptical of the lunacy. He paints, as someone parroted his reply, that all who disagree are corrupted by oil money. The dirty little secret is that the money funding pro global warming psuedoscience is over three times larger than the moneys paid by oil companies and industry to try to refute it. And by the way, Rush Limbaugh debates liberals everyday but opponents generally don't last more than 10 seconds without resorting to insults and generally offer no substance.

Al Gore is afraid to communicate each and every body on the elements concern. He claims that's all universal technology, yet each day more beneficial data on the opposite surfaces. he's asking further and extra like a pompous clown. yet when he did debate Sarah Palin, she would win--palms down.

Debate who? You? Their are exactly 0 reputable scientists (not on a corporate payroll) who espouse that global warming is not a real or likely real phenomenon.
Addendum: No Science to back him up? The National Academies of Science in the US, most of Europe, Brazil, Japan, South Africa all provide the science that backs Mr. Gore's premise.

Al Gore is afraid to debate because of the split in the Democratic party. The mid-term elections are coming up and by appealing to one half of the Democratic party he risks alienating the other half which would spell doom for his own party in those Congressional elections.

its simple the democrates don't want him to debate because he'll sound worse then Bush and they want only republicans to sound nuts during a debate and he'll make more idiotic comments then anyone else could even dream about or gross people out by making out with his wife again on camera

He cant debate what does not exist. Since there is no science to back him up. It is just easier to make stuff up to talk about.
