Think about a bar with current government "usually" holding the middle. Anything to the left is more liberal and socialist the far left they usually hold Communist values. Anything to the right is more conservative and traditional.the extreme right hold Fascist, nationalist and Nazi values
So to answer your question. this politician is concerned about taxing the rish, redistribution of wealth and nationalizing public service etc

A Politician considered far to the left, means he is an extreme liberal Socialist. If a person like that comes to power, our taxes will go toward supporting everyone who believes work is a four letter word.

It intends to imply that this individual will take away your individual rights and tax you to provide benefits for the nonproductive members of the society. It implies that the State of Massachusetts is an example of Far Left politics.

The right, is conservatives. The far right is very conservative. The extremely right is fascist.
The left is liberal. The far left is socialist. THe extremely left is communism.
So if you call someone "far left" you are calling them a socialist.
