In comparison to the saying "a picture is worth a thousand words", a kiss is worth so much more- I'd even say it's priceless! And timeless!
A kiss can be defined in so many ways. Nature's creations do it to each other in a griping intimate moment- as the sun kisses the ocean, the wind kisses the trees, or the falling snow kisses the sky on the way down. A mother does it to her young displaying her undying, nurturing love for that little one. And from one to another, it represents that passionate greeting, au revoir, or the unveiling of the dimension perceived by no other.
The kiss of true love-- It isn't a trick. It isn't just a moment. Or a display of affection. It speaks more than just words... in ANY quantity. It doesn't "stop" speech but rather picks up where speech left off and couldn't continue. It doesn't replace words, but rather defines ones unknown or unspeakable. It isn't "designed", programmed, invented, planned, or even defined. It is talked about and longed for by so many and experienced by so few. It represents an infinite devotion and ever lasting commitment to a new entity- that unbreakable bond/unification created from, by, for, and on behalf of true love.
Just a hunch.

In writing terms it's known as the ideal midpoint, that or the point of no return. In other words...it's kind of a personal commitment of a character in which the relationship antis up. But now-a-days...a kiss doesn't mean the same as it did before...but to me...I'll take Ingrid Bergman's definition any day. ; )

Ichi described a kiss as the following:
"A kiss is the thing you blow to someone you care enough about to not blow a raspberry at"
Ichi from the Future described a kiss as the following:
"An emotionally attaching and obsolete method of exchanging saliva embraced as tradition until the early 23rd century when it was discovered that leprosy was transmuted in this fashion"
Ichi the Eskimo described a kiss as the followng:
"To rub noses with your fellow ice-farmer to avoid it falling off through hyperthermia"
Without wishing to cross any lines you may have drawn, I believe Ichi could kick Bergman's *** at the whole quote game

The "right" kiss should be undefinable and stand outside of time.
Either that or I'll just go with what the poet Rupert Brooke said, "A kiss makes the heart young again and wipes out the years."

There are so many different kinds of kisses but my favorite kiss is a lovers kiss. So I will tell you what that is to me.
It is a pause in time that can only be restarted by pulling away and taking a breath. Sometimes it is fun to see how long we can hold off time together.

Dr Henry Gibbons suggests that "A kiss is the anatomical juxtaposition of two orbicular muscles in a state of contraction".
Though I am more likely to agree with Henry Youngman who said "A kiss is the shortest distance between two" or, indeed, Percy Bysshe Shelley who wrote "Soul meets soul on lovers lips".
Missing such kisses leaves me lacking in expressing exactly what a kiss is, it is only defined when our lips meet, I can only explain myself to him...

A kiss was the way early mothers used to pass food to their children. Pretty noble origins
For me it tells me everything I need to know about a girl

i kiss is a way to show emotion when words are just not enough. They are (when used right) a way to say I love you and I care about you very much.
