The mushrooms are growing on some decomposing plant material below the soil line. This could be dead roots from a tree that has been cut down or even peat moss from the sod that was installed.

Unless you can identify the source, the mushrooms will come back. You can cut back the amount of water, and that might help, but the plants (lawn) nearby might suffer.

The best thing to do is use a leaf rake and just knock them down. Keep doing this, and the mushrooms use up their energy re-growing eventually burning themselves out.

In the big picture, easy fix and nothing to worry about.

I hope that this helps
Good luck-

Mushrooms can also come up from too much watering.

The worst case would be that they form a neat little ring that expands every year. This is called fairy ring. The only way I know to get rid of it is to dig up the grass and plant some new stuff.

DO NOT MOW THEM!!! Mushrooms spread by spores, if you mow them it will scatter the spores and you will have an even bigger problem. Mushrooms need to be dug out. You need to find the cause of them. They often grow becuase something is rotting underneath the ground, for example a stump. Unfortunately there is no chemical available to kill them so you will have to dig them up and hopefully find their source. Good luck!

Just let them be. There is no way to eliminate them, because they grow from spores, and you can't possibly get rid of all of them. So just be mellow. ;)
