Not so much anymore. I've learned a lot through the painful path of experience and can sometimes chirp right in there with something that is, at least, encouraging. Usually, when I can't find the right thing to say, the best thing to say is "I don't know the right thing to say." Or simply don't say anything. As you have to know, I often pop out with the wrong thing to say at the wrong time. I hope people who know me can forgive me for that.

The "right" thing to say....only seems to be a problem when I approach people who are both famous and someone I respect. Billy connolly - I couldn't say a bloody word and he thought I was a nutter. Sandy Toksvig (a writer and comedian) was another one - stuttered something stupid and walked away.

Generally though, the right thing to say is relatively easy if you define it as the thing that wll be best in the short term. The TRUE thing to say is the hard part, because truth will often engender conflicts, or cause pain, neither of which are my general objects in life. I might well put off telling an absolute truth in the hope that a situation will in fact just remedy itself. Never usually does of course, but at least by the time it comes up again, I'll have been able to have a bit more thinking time to say the true thing in a non-inflammatory way.

Way more often than I want to. Especially when it's important or when it deals with something that's going to affect what others say or do or think. Sometimes I feel as though the future depends on what I say or don't say and I get really super nervous about it. And sometimes I feel that silence can be even worse than not saying the right thing. Or saying the wrong thing. But I'm wrong about this a lot. I really hope I got this right.

This one's kinda got me stumped.

I'm never stuck for something to say, but I'm not sure if it's always the right thing because, in all honesty, I don't really try that hard. I'm not what you'd call a "people" person.

I just say whatever's on my mind (which more often than not is absolute gibberish) and some people take offence to it, others don't. It doesn't bother me either way so I don't try to make others feel better.

In fact, you just reminded me of what I said to my friend's girlfriend the other day. It was something about her having an ugly baby... ha ha ha.

I never have trouble saying something. I rarely say the right thing. So yes. I do.

Uhm, hmmm...yeah, sometimes...I guess. Like now maybe?

Oh man do have I have trouble finding the right thing to say. Usually, it's when I need to say that one "thing" that one important "thing" and instead of just saying the first thing that pops into my head, I stop myself and analyze it, think about it, and pause too long for station identification. So then the moment I needed to say it in passes by and I'm left saying...Uhm, hmmm...yeah, sometimes...I guess. Like now maybe?

Yes, that's why I spend a lot more time listening than talking. If it is something that really matters I like to think carefully about what to say, and I process information rather slowly because I am a detail person.
