WE have to make a 3d model of a habitat we have to show the plantlife landforms etc. we can use the habitats of rain forest, forest grasslands wetlands etc oh we need to show animal life to so any suggestions on how to put it together.

fill a pan ( tinfoil disposable) with flour mix ( flour, water)
press down into it to shape in into hills and whatnot

make little paper trees,
use food color to paint it, and or markers when its dry.

wal-mart sells little plastic animals in a kit for $1.00
( with the plastic cowboys and indians)
attach postit notes or something like it around the edge to describe the critters there and or picts of plants too that grow there....
if its more than one habitat, divide it into sections, have some in each....

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh this can be so much fun!!! Your son is 7-8 yrs. old??? Is he into dinosaures??? Buy bag of plastic dinos. Make volcano, use soup size can, build volcano around it. Into can add Baking powder and vinegar. It will foam up like a volcano. Now just get creative with enviroment, add trees, make from clay or cut out of magazines, Add a lake, small saucer of water cleverly disguised. Get the idea?? Have a ball!!

paint a cardboard bottom, make some trees and vines, then glue some animals on

Use clay. You can form it to look like anything.
