The judgements are paid by the show. Yes, people do get a fee for appearing, but the real reason they go on is for the satisfaction of being told they're right, and winning. But the losers don't have to foot the bill. They only have to suffer the humiliation of having lost.

They both get paid --- around a $1000 give or take. It's been a while since I heard how much $ was paid. Whoever wins gets paid by both the show and the person who has to pay. That was my understanding, but I'm not sure at all.

You both get paid I would think since you both have to agree to go on TV for it, but of course whoever wins the case would get more money out of it based on the judgement, nobody wants to make a fool of themselves for free :D

The person that took the other person to court will get paid 200.00. I know b/c I filed to sue someone in small claims court and got a letter to be on the peoples court for 200.00 for an appearence

there is a pool of money usually 4000.00 the winner of the case gets their money out of that pool whatever is left is divided among the 2 parties. the loser doesnt have to put out any of their own money. that is probably why you see so many family members suing each other.

yes you do i know a person who lost they took the differnce out and he still got a little more than a grand he lost a little over a grand because he lost
