Do I need to take calcium supplements in addition to Women's one a day, or does this vitamin have enough calcium in it?

Women's One a Day has about 50% of the RDA of calcium. So, you should make sure to get the other 50% from food or take a separate calcium supplement. Note that if you do decide on another supplement, don't take it with the multi. Your body can only absorb about 600 mg of calcium at a time. So take the multi in the morning and the calcium in the evening.

In fact everybody should take calcium supplement BUT lady should take more because of their physiologic roles (ie menstruation, child bearing etc). In addition to calcium, Iron should the next category of supplement to consider. However, we cannot just isolate one category of supplement and take them in large quantity. All vitamins and minerals are needed (small quantity) in our daily body metabolism and cell activity. The problems today is that our daily intake of food is lacking of nutrients as compared to many years ago. If the body deprived of one, it will look for another substistute until it exhaust it search and then, your body will show it symptoms.
I believe the biggest question you might want to consider will be : Does your vitamins and minerals supplement purchase at the shelves contains enough essentials category that your body needs? What kind of absorption rate the manufacturer claims (some just below 20%)? Is it value for money or not (too expensive to maintain)?
If you will like to compare notes on this matter, do email me. I'll be happy to tell you more.
Thanks for allowing me to share.

I suggest eating green leafy veggies and other fruits/veggies. They have 2-3 times more calcium in them than any dairy product, and you don't want to take processed calcium like tums, they can be very toxic to the body. Some example of fruits/veggies are broccoli, cauliflower, any kind of greens (kale, collard, beet, mustard greens, turnip greens), parsley, peppers, soybeans, chickpeas, almonds, and seseme seeds to name a few.
