I rent on Cape Cod. My landlord refuses to make repairs on well water pump, and some electrical problems also. Can I withhold rent until repairs are made?? He's also threatened eviction. What are my rights? I've got 3 kids, I need water! Is he trying to scare me with threat of eviction?? I've been in house for 3 months and have paid rent. When I said "No repairs, no rent! He stated "No rent no repairs!"

Your state has laws regarding your rights as a renter. It probably also has an organization to help with your situation. Start with the state government pages in your telephone book.

I would guess that if your landlord won't provide you with (safe, clean) water or your place has an electrical problem which could endanger you or your children.... you've got a serious case against him.
