First, this U.S.A. is a _republic_, not a democracy.
Second, the people have the right and obligation to vote their conscience.
If Democrats do the thing for them, then that's the way they should vote. The will of the people is supposed to be the rule of the land.
If you have read my other political posts, you have seen that I favor the Republican party over the Democrats, mostly because the Republicans are now in the 'leftist' position that the Democrats were in in the late '60s. The entire political spectrum has shifted left while I stayed in the same spot. What was "so left it was almost right" in 1966 is now 'conservative to the point of fascism'. Go figure.

Less citizen rights?? Are you freaking kidding me? This coming from the party of censorship, racial profiling, the death penalty, and anti-gay marriage.
As for bigger government and larger taxes, the Bush admistration has done nothing at all to decrease the size of the government, almost no presidency ever has, despite their rhetoric (in fact, it is bigger than ever). And Bush's tax cuts only really helped the richest 1% of Americans, and were done without any decrease in spending. The concept of balancing a budget is completely foreign to Republicans.

I actually like big government better than small government. If I am not paying my so called "high taxes," then I am probably paying them to some CEO or corporation. Plus, the government, at least, in America is democratic, unlike a corporation.

Because the Democrats paid their grandparent immagrants to vote Democrat, and people usually vote how their parents voted.
Because unions (no idea why) support them.
Because with the lack of moral aptitude, the only way some people can get a 'warm fuzzy' feeling is to let the government do their charity work.

Government (and its intrusions) has grown drastically under Bush.
And don't get me started about citizen rights--or lack thereof-- and the Republicans.
Bush decided the best way to deal with a tanking economy and horrendous debt was to cut the taxes of the top 1% of the country. That's not what I'd called fiscal responsibility.

It turned right into a Republican who freed the slaves and a Republican who signed for Martin Luther King's birthday as a nationwide vacation. i'm no longer precisely particular why the change. i keep in mind that Dr. King counseled Nixon. unusually sufficient Southern states with the biggest black populations have Republican governors and the Republican candidate commonly consists of those states. Your factors are nicely taken. perchance some black man or woman can clarify why ninety 5% of blacks vote for Democrats because it really is a secret to me.

Why do other folks still vote for Republicans? Their platform is not morally superior to the Democratic platform.
The fact is that people have different preferences, different values, and different perceptions of what is good for the country.

why do folks still vote for Republicans?
Republicans seem to be for ever larger budget deficits, rising inequalities, more brutal police and prisons, don't care about the abysmal level of schools, don't care about pollution or global warming, and are happy to spend over 100bn waging a war that has done nothing to help anyone, on the contrary it has probably increased the risk of a terrorist attack. And they're headed by a guy whose IQ seems worryingly low.

because if we vote for a third party candidate, the candidate is not likely to win because of the bipartisianship. the only other option is voting for a moron like bush. so you see there really isn't a choice? speaking of big government. look at how much bush has spent on the military since going into office. he has expanded the government more than any previous president.
