Defenately a taste thing! I have a darker color (not black but dark) and I dont fancy very dark people nor do I fancy very white people! Its a taste thing! Dont worry about it! Its the stereotyping of people that build such an opinion! Plus, you never know whats really going on in their heads! Ignore them!

No, I don't think you're necessarily being racist, but I think I understand why other people may think so...One way you could possibly defuse the situation is to say,...However, I'm perfectly willing to start a business with her (black Jamaican), or something similar...There is something that you need to consider, too...There is nothing sweeter than a Jamaican, so you should try it sometime...Maybe you're masking a prejudice with a "taste preference" thing. Suppose you fell in love? Would you still say, no, I have a taste preference? If so, then maybe you are a racist. Are Puerto Ricans or Hispanics OK? Are Pakistanis OK? Are Indians OK? Are Arabs OK? Where do you draw the line?

you should never have answered that question. People are just waiting to stir the pot and they got you. I am on your side totally. Just because you dont find a particular race attractive dosnt make you a racist at all. Its your choice and yours alone, I bet 1/2 of the people at your work would do or say the same as you did. Keep your head up you did nothing wrong. and If they persist at you dont hesitate to mention this to your HR

I feel the same way. But now days, everyone wants to make a fuss about race or really anything for that matter. Heaven forbid you are allowed to make your own choices without falling into the new societal way of accepting everything everyone else does. People pick and choose one another for a marid of different reasons, hair, smile, thick-thin, tall-short, etc. And for the same reasons you don't like darker skin someone might not like lighter skin. You are well within your rights to have your OWN preferences on a mate, just like anyone else.

YOU'RE A RACIST!!!! YES, YOU ARE. SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF, YOU BIGOT!!!

ok, I'm just kidding. You are not racist, you just don't like darkies. You don't find them attractive, you think they're ugly. It's your personal opinion. No big deal. By the way, I'm hispanic. Not dark, nor white, right in between. A lot of people find dark people and people like me ugly, unattractive, etc. just because of skin color or just cause they're not white. I live in NYC, trust me I know. Majority of whites will lower their heads and look at the ground so as to avoid eye contact or any kind of contact (interaction) with people like me. It's part of life, I've learned to live with it. I don't think they're racist, I just don't think anything about it, other that I do the same thing as well, and try to avoid any contact or interaction with white people at all cost. I think I got off the subject, but anyway you're not racist.

No that doesn't make re racist. I'm black and I have white friends, but I wouldn't want to sleep with them. It's really how people are raised and the stupidity of how people think. Don't worry about what they say. Let your co-workers sleep with who ever they want. You do you and that what matters.

That was a racist question in the first place to be asked....people have different preferences about sexual relationships and their freinds based on interests and hobbies.
Just because someone never has a black freind doesn't imply racism.

No you are not a racist. Everyone has their own personal tastes. I don't like red heads, for example. I would never date one, I don't find them attractive.

What kind of place do you work at? That is none of their business!!!! If it's a fun game of answering silly questions then you shouldn't get attacked for answering the question honestly. No, I do not think your racist.
