Is this really a shock to anyone? He has shown all the signs since his second year in San Francisco! He is an attention starved self serving baby! I think anybody who gets to that point is a very sad story. . . however. . . . . he is just another man. A more sad story is the guy working two jobs to try to feed his family who commits suicide! This pompous arrogant jerk is and has been just that. . . a complete jerk. Unfortunately. . . his family, friends, and posse have used this to their benefit instead of pounding some sense into him! I wish him well and hope he takes care of his problem. . .however. . . there are a lot more productive members of society than him who need help and do a lot more for society! Maybe if the 49ers or Eagles would have worried about him, their image, and common decency a little more than selling tickets and jerseys it wouldn't have gotten to this point. At least T.O. (team obliterator) has the funds to get quality help. . life goes on!

No shock. He needs Jesus. Maybe Emmitt Smith and Deion Sanders will help guide him to the Son.

A shame that he tried to committ suicide, obviously he's got more problems internally. But here is the real shame. All the Cowboys and Parcells are interested in is if he will play on Sunday. they don't seem to care that the guy is totally messed up and football might be part to blame besides Owens himself. He needs to walk away from the game for a while and get his life back together. He has a long life ahead of him after football. But all the cowboys want to know is if he can play on sunday. Thats the saddest part of the whole thing.

It has not yet been confirmed if it was a suicide attempt or an allergic reaction to pain medication. I do think he is thrown off mentally in his constnt need for attention. He has so much talent and his attitude and mouth are squandering it. He will never be loved in the way he dreams of. But I do hope he loves himself a bit more then he seems to. I hope he gets some quality help soon and he can once more share his great talent with the world.

Yeah..i was alittle shocked. Although he still gets the publicity..i don't think that was the reason why wanted to committ suicide. There are alot of issues that athletes and celebrities go through, that normal people can't even began to understand. It's sad, yes!!! But that just goes to show you that money & fame DOES NOT equal happiness!!!!

This explains a lot about his abhorrent behaviour. Manic Depressive? Bi-Polar? Mentally deficient? Insanity? Whatever it is it obvious is a very serious mental condition possible even more than that (Brain tumour?). We should look closer at people who display self destructive and anti social behaviour and get them the help they need.

He hasn't been playing, he's a narcissist who's starved for attention. If someone REALLY wants to kill himself he gets a gun and shoots himself in the head, not take a bunch of painkillers.
It reminds me of another attention starved narcissist who reportedly tried to kill himself by driving off an expressway, Deion Sanders. These guys are just f****ng ATTENTION STARVED.

it hasn't even been confirmed that, that's what happened. the media loves a good juicy story...i say we wait and see what really went on. Sure, it's more exciting to say that he tried to kill his self rather than he had an allergic reaction.

where the hell are people getting this from? he had a reaction to painkillers prescribed for his hand. (I'm not a fan BTW, I dislike him, just think this is ludacris). ESPN didn't even hint to it, and they are always one to mention something if it's even remotely possible.
