I like taking songs that weren't necessarily for the guitar and playing them acoustically( ie alot of 80's new wave), along with that acoustic-fying a rock song is always fun. Also most blues songs are a blast to play and it is a good way to learn some new chord - 9ths, minor7ths, etc...

Howard jones - No one to blame
Police - Message in a bottle
Most Creed songs sound good acoustic.
I would like to try some AC/DC, Silvertide also.

You don't need to learn the songs note for note - just get the chord changes and if the song has any "Identifying" licks add those in as needed.

I am currently working on Livin on a Prayer (which Jon has already done acoustically) and Cherry pie by Warrant.

The best songs for you to play are ones you love.

Try and find songs you like in the Major key ranges of D, A, G,

When you find a strange chord, look it up in a chord chart. You can find them on the internet easily.

Then start playing with these new additions and your song repetoire as well as the number of chords you can play will increase as well.
