I never really liked them when my daughter was in school. I went because I had to. I used to always cringe when I heard them discuss the "projects" cause I knew it meant I'd have to deal with it.

I hate going but I go to all the open house crap...lol
Sit there and listen and leave. I go to the school for a meeting about 3 to 4 times a year. They force ya to go to 2 of them. Then I go before school starts to see who their teachers are. I eat lunch a few times a year. I hated school I don't won't to hang out there. I'm waiting on my kids to get out of school so I can have a peaceful life again.....My parents were teachers....That may be the reason I so hate a school!

It is not my favorite thing to do. Don't get me wrong, I like to be informed on my child's performance, however when they suggest/demand activities that I need to do, even though I don't have the resources to do so, then that when it gets annoying. For example, your kid needs a tutor, the school offers tutoring at UNREASONABLE prices and your kid is left in the cold so to speak cause you can't afford the prices. I don't enjoy the conferences, I already know how my kid is performing cause I review his homework and grades, and don't need the teacher to tell me what they think I am doing wrong.

I like it. My children's school is really good and the teachers are really good so for me it isn't something i dread. I already know most the teachers anyway, my kids have been in this school for 3 yrs now and I do a lot of volunteer work there.

we had open house last night and it always really sucks. but you have to go if you want the teacher to think you are a dedicated involved parent, no matter how busy you are, no matter how inconvientent it is to fit into an already full day, only the apethetic uncaring parents don't go.

It's about your child ~ you should be very involved in his/her life and school. This is why so many kids are careless about school, because parents don't get involved enough and talk to the teachers about the progress of their child.

Not too bad, I like to know what is going on with my child in school, but a letter typed out or emailed to me (technology baby) would be just as good.

I like it. It always amazes me that teachers always say my children (4) are so sweet and quiet. I always ask who they are talking about because there's nothing quiet about my kids. Sweet sometimes.
