Is Greece willing to give up some of its "Cultural Independence" for the economic benefit of the EU?

It depends!
EU is the first to declare that the Community is a system where variety of nations can cooperate on creating a uniform Europe. Additionally the basis of Europe' s concept is to accept and to respect the group' s and the individuals' rights to execute in a free way their habits and beliefs.
Greece has a culture which has put the basis of Europe values. (democracy, freedom etc). Therefore to my opinion it is not a matter of ''cultural independence'' but of a constructive way of utilizing and absorbing those parts of each country' s culture to the whole EU's habitants' benefit.
