Definately less weight, more reps...more weight will give you shapely muscles, but you will be able to see the form of the muscles. More weight also tends to give you more vein presence as it increases blood flow to the healing muscle tissue...probably not really the feminine look you are going for.

Lighter weights and more reps. Bigger weights add bulk by breaking down the muscle, and then when the body "fixes" it, it grows. Lighter weights and more reps will continue to tighten the existing muscle mass without bulking them.

Try bellydance. I do it all the time and it makes my arms sooo sore. Start with lighter weights with 2 sets of about 20 reps. As much as you think you can handle.

If you MUST use weights, make sure they're very light. 2 or 3 pounders. Many reps- like 30. BUT KIDDO- didn't you just have an arm question? I'm serious! Skip the weights and just move your arms more for cardio. Arm-cardio, it works!! Trust me.

Light weights with more reps. If you do heavy reps you will end up like a body builder!

For toning, you need to do less weight and more reps. (up to 15 or 20 reps)
For building mucsles you need more weight, and lower reps (6 to 4)
