I just purchased a 289 to replace the original inline6. Can I flip the motor mounts for the inline 6 backwards to fit the 289 or do I need to measure and purchase new motor mounts for the car.

You can use the old ones by flipping them. The problem with that is your engine now will have twice the power and torque. Your old motor mounts will not handle the torque of the new motor and will break fairly fast. I recommend buying new ones and that way you won't have to replace them in a month or two. Good Luck

Not just the mounts springs powersteering lines size of the cooling system rear axle ratio, your in for some work. All of the custom motor mounts and transmission belhousings are available. To fit 289 into 6 cyl car $$$

I suggest you get new motor mounts, cuz the old ones are probably pretty worn out, and it's always better to be safe than sorry when you're putting a newer engine in your car:)

P.S. Nice ride!!!
