First: My grandfather is dead, and he was very strict when I was growing up, only when he was in his 90's was he easier to talk to.
I am part Phillipino...he was full.

The dream:

We were on the Big Island...far from the main road, and the feeling was we were on a farm. I looked into a door and there was an old Hawaiian lady putting food in baskets. Lots of fruits, fish, rice, and pork. I was pretty hungry looking at it. Then she said, "Why don't you come in and eat all that you want?" Grandpa and I started eating. He was sitting in a corner and started to sing, and encouraged me to join him....I sort of started singing the last phases of what he just sang. When he was done, there was a couple that started singing. It was one of my favorite Hawaiian songs, "Honolulu City Lights". As the song was being sung, the older lady started massaging my fingers, rubbing them (it felt so good) the song was sung so beautifully that I started to cry. Then I woke up.

I am alittle Phillipino too. I think that your dream , was just your grandfather, trying to comfort you and putting all those yummy foods out may of did the trick. Messaging your fingers was to give you a form of relaxation and probley just wanted you not to worry and he is in a better place. God Bless you and grandpa

Generally i must say it is a good dream. There is continuity. There is invitation to abundance. There is guidance and acceptance. There is joy and happiness. There is awakening of all the 5 senses and one more. The spirit of life. The spirit of joy. Big island, far from main road ? Isolated but not in isolation. Privacy. Do not disturb. A private time of enjoyment. A time of blessings. Even, continuity of blessings from family tree and generations before. Even divine blessings and guidance. We cry when our soul deep down inside is touched and the spirit comes alive. Thats when we live. Do not be suspicous of others good overtures. Accept them. Some have even entertain angels unaware. Open door, to friends, strangers and even God. Allow Him to be your companion. Blessings flow as you follow your heart.

In general, dreams can be interpretted by the meaning we place on the places, objects and people in our dreams. As you were describing it, the "feeling" of the place is what matters.

As far as this dream goes, I would think either in your subconsious or through your grandfather's spirit, you feel the need to get back to your beginning. Simplifying the truth of your life and who you are. Your heritage. Your purpose in life.

I would venture to say your current state of living has you living only on the surface....living for the here and now and not paying attention to the things you were brought up to pay attention to. Family. Love. Simple freedoms that weren't taken for granted back then. I expect you will continue to have these types of dreams until you satisfy your unconscious search to bring yourself back to who you really are. Grandpa , whether you created him as the entity to guide you just like he did in life, or in real spirit, is trying to show you the way.

Do you feel you are currentlly dishonoring him in any way?

Dreaming of loved one like your grandpa often means you have some sort of good memories remind in you. You had a good relationship with him.

All these eating, singing enjoyment symbolized the love for him. Probably something that triggered you to dream about him. He plays some important impact in your life. I don't see any significance in this dream but a love for your grandpa.

you will have something drastic happen in your life, you yearn for attention from others and you miss your grandfather and his guidance.

The food part can be said to mean that you are actually full when you went to bed and needed to be full inside with someone you miss deeply.

sing songs means you yearn for a certain meaning within yourself you haven't found yet.

It sounds to me like your grandad doesn't want you to forget where you came from. Find out more about your ancestry and get familiar with it. Also, it sounds like your grandad was trying to make up for what he didn't do while he was still alive. Be proud of who you are and remember your grandad always. He is watching over you.
