Wasnt this a problem on Mr. Wizards World?? First you have to make a tensionometer. Basically its a spring that stretches as weight is added. (a small fish scale will work) Attach one end of the string to a pole and the other to the scale, and wall. The weight of the string and gravity will pull the string down, causing the scale to move.
