on the back of the washer there is 3 hoses and 1 electrical cord
1)the 2 smaller hoses are your water supply,on the back of the washer where they connect should be markings hot/cold. hot should always be on your left as you face it.the same applies to the water supply valves on the wall in your laundry room.
check those to assure hot water does come out of the one on your left, some plumbers forget to mark their hands before going to work. be sure you have rubber hose gaskets in each end of the hose, some have a filter screen on one end, these are good and usually have the gasket attached, tighten securely so they don't leak, using pliers if necessary.open valves completely, check a few times for leaks, tigthen as necessary.

2.)the larger hose is the drain, uaually connected to the bottom of the bach of washer,be sure this connection does not leak, there should be a drain pipe about waist level that you stick this hose into,be certain it is a snug fit or tie it down so it does not come out .

3.)plug in the washer to a120v outlet(the plug should fit in easily.if you have a 2 prong outlet(found mostly in older homes)buy an adapter.

4.)run machine thru 1 cycle and check all connection again.after using maching a day or so it is advisable to check connectios again for leaks

it is common to have valve leak thru the valve stem because they get dry.if so, turn the valve one turn ,get a cresent wrench and tighten the packing gland(big nut,hex shaped cap the valve stem protrudes from approx 1 inch acrss the flats.tighted turning clockwise(to the left). if leak persists , go to hareware store and they will sell you some packing and will advise how to add packing under the packing cap(big nut)

if you have further questions ask the guy at your local hardware store, they love to help.

Washer Hot And Cold Hoses

You have a missing water hose. You have to have two for the washer to work Look on the back of the washer to see were it goes. A replacement hose can be gotten at a hardware store. Tell them what you want it far and make sure it is about the same length as the one you have. The shop vac hose is the water outlet hose and goes in the drain pipe as described above. Get a pair of slip joint pliers while you are at the hardware store. Make sure they are big enough to fit the hose fittings. The hardware guy can help. No one knows how to do this stuff till they learn how. Don't be so hard on yourself and don't let the hardware guy say anything you don't understand if he does just say I don't understand that. It is his job to help you out. Do not let anyone make you feel dumb. You know tons of stuff he never heard of. Good luck - you will be a master plumber before you know it.

The Shop Vac is the Drain Hose and goes in the Pipe sticking up in the Floor or in the Big Hole if there a Square thing in the wall. There should be TWO Water Hoses. They Hook to the two things that have Knobs you turn. These TWO hoses, THINK, one is for Hot water and one is for cold water!!!! There is usually a H and C cut into the metal where these hoses connect to the washer!!! H is Hot water, C is Cold water. IF, there not H & C remove one hose and see what color the inside is on where it Screwed Red is Hot, Blue is Cold. NOW!!!! The TWO things with knobs you turn are Water Faucets, Some have a Red Knob for Hot Water and a Blue Knob for Cold Water, IF they not colored you may have to connect a water hose and run outside and turn one on to see if it Hot or Cold. Then connect the water hoses from the washer to these according to Hot and Cold. Then you will see this Black Wire with a 2-3 prong plug on the end. Plug that into the Wall Plug!! Remember to turn the Water on when everything connected.

The back of the washer should have:

(1) One line for HOT water - looks like a black garden hose
(2) One line for COLD water - looks like a black garden hose
(3) Electrical cord. Usually 220V.

Good luck!

Call the place where you bought it from for guidance.
Sounds like the one black hose is for cold water.
The large hose with hook on it is the drain.
But get some help for sure.

Oh! Darn! "Them" hoses are really hard to deal with. Looks like "them" hoses have a life of "there" own.

2 hoses:

1 - for hot water
1 - for cold water

the one of them hoses that looks like a hose of a shop vaccum is for draining the water from the washing machine out to the drain (sewage line)

And then there is an electrical cord that you'll plug to the power outlet on the wall
