Hi,to first answer your concern, babies are supposedly most active between 24-28 weeks, when they have ample space for their acrobatics.I'm currently 28 weeks pregnant and have the same concerns as you do but this is what I've learnt about my daughter so far.She has regular timings when she's most active and that's when I start counting her kicks and any sort of movement I feel.
Pick the time of day when your baby's most active, lie down and try to count her kicks. If she kicks or moves even gently atleast 10 times in one hour, everything oughta be considered normal.
In any case,if you still are worried, you MUST contact your doctor.

When your baby first starts moving it is not a lot at first. The baby is still really small and you wont be able to feel every movement. Also if you had really tight stomach muscles when you got pregnant it takes longer for the baby etc to break down the stomach wall to where you can feel it. Your only around 5 months right? I didn't start feeling her move alot until I was around 7 months. I am 35 weeks now and she moves good. Also, babies tend to rest when you are active and move around when you are resting. It has to do with oxygen flow etc.

You baby will go through a growth spurt from time to time, and spend a lot of time sleeping in there.
Iam 24 weeks and my baby just got done with a week worth of growing. He was pretty still for the most part, only moved every four- five hours that i was awake. but my stomach popped out more, he's back to his active self, and kicking like the lord of the dance.
As long as she's kicking she's fine. The farther along you get the less the baby moves, theres just not as much room. And if she's low you very well might not be feeling her as strongly as usual.

Whenever you have question or concern about your pregnancy, it's at LEAST worth a call in to your doctors office. So that is my first suggestion!
When I was pregnant with my first, I mentioned to my doctor,
"yes, the baby is active, but the strength of the kicks seems weaker and weaker as time goes on...what is with that?"
He held his hand about a foot away from me and asked me to punch it. I did. WHACK!
Then he put his hand about an inch away from my fist and said,
"without moving your fist back to get momentum, punch my hand now." I did, Thump.
He explained that as the baby has less room to reve up and get that kick going (but instead only can shift within a cozy/tight womb) the kicks are going to seem less strong and more like gentle moving under the surface.
THIS is normal.
But again...as I say, if you have a concern..CALL IT IN! They may want to give you a test to check up on the baby- called a stress test. This is normal too.
What a time of worries pregnancy can be...but most things are normal- just unexperienced and not understood.

I personally didn't have this problem, both my boys were active day and night, but my mom has told me many times (I'm the middle of three children) how I was so inactive that she wouldn't feel me move for days at a time and actually went to the doctor a few times to make sure I was alright. Obviously I turned out fine :)
All babies are different, and yours is probably just a placid baby, but if you're concerned, ask your doctor.

Get a NST Non Stress Test done and make sure baby is okay and make sure that her fluid is at a good level there are alot of factors why a baby stops moving so much. Running out of room. Low in pelvis low fluid just make sure baby is okay.

i didn't feel much movement with my son but like your baby he was very low down, i did feel like my ribs were being squashed which was a constant reminder he was there!! Also if you work you might not notice they baby moving much cos you are on the go, try and relax in the evening and feel kicks then, if your worried you should see your midwife just to be safe, they will send you for a late scan

My wife and I have two children. Our first child, a Daughter, was always wriggliing around and it was very exciting. Our second Child, a Son, didn't move much at all. The difference in our two children is astonishing! Our Daughter ''The wriggler'' turned out to be a very tense and worried child. But our son is very relaxed and easy going. He is a pleasure to communicate with. Loves thunderstorms. Never feels intimidated and is a very grounded 6 year old.

As long as you feel movement at times, don't worry. I've had three and they all moved differently in the womb. One did somersaults ALOT, one just swished at one time of the day, and one never moved around a whole lot. I know you can't tell a mother not to worry, but worrying doesn't change anything, so ENJOY your last trimester. You'll be getting more movement in the next few months. GOOD LUCK!
