I've heard some types of food&drinks, states of mind etc. contribute to chances that one may conceive. How exactly does this influence take place? And, when we try making babies, why is it that we start feeling the symptoms- even though everything is normal?

Very in depth question. You may want to try webmd.com for your answer....I CAN tell you that ANY medications you are taking OR over the counter drugs ALSO interact and reduce your chances of becoming pregnant. Also, the stress levels DO play a role in it as well. Good Luck! Try not to think about conceiving so much and it WILL happen.

Alcohol and drugs can play a large factor. For example and alcoholic man is likely to have slow swimmers (the sperm are affected by the alcohol). I spent 8 years trying to figure out what I was doing wrong to not conceive. It was when I stopped "trying" so hard that it happened. Yes I continued my clomid and keeping track of my cycle, but didn't concentrate day and night. You have a very small window of opportunity to get pregnant. As long as you have intercourse during that time frame, you are doing what you can do. I think every woman who wants a baby can talk herself in to feeling like she is pregnant because the antenna is on high alert watching for signs and symptoms. You are normal! Good luck to you.

Some really good answers for you dd. Lots of things play into the equation. A friend of mine was trying to conceive and we tried lots, but it didn't happen.

I think it was all the stress she was having plus being a type A. She works really hard at night, having family problems, & a recent widow. She never sits down to relax, and I am sure she never had orgasm.

I also think a woman needs to be in the proper state of mind. I tried to tell her to slow down, relax, continue to lie down after sex, etc., but she never did for very long. I also think a woman can help the process along by not concentrating or stressing about conception. Concentrate on always being in a sexy mood, keeping your mate hot and ready, and always swallow your mate's sperm. I think all these contribute to making the conditions right for conception.

Acidic foods can reduce chances. Douche with baking soda water prior to sex to increase your chances. Also, if you do not orgasm, it is likely that you will not become pregnant. If you are trying for a baby, eat an alkaline diet, rich in potassium, non acidic fruits and vegetables, and whole grains, and low in fat and dairy. Hope that helps.

Its just the woman mind. She can will herself pregnant, even though she is not, and her body will react accordingly. Flase pregnancies do happen.

Women can also want to be pregnant so badly that the stress it causes keeps them from getting pregnant.

Having sex is the best way to make babies. Simple as that. everything else just gets in the way.

In the book "The Adventures of Marco Polo" the Chinese males would take extra hot baths before sex to kill most sperm and a low sperm count is one way but so many things can contribute.
