Looking at hte growing number of men becoming more obsessed to their appearance, what do you think about it? if you are male, do you consider yourself as a metrosexual? Why or why not? if you are female, what do you think about this trend? Will you marry a man who belongs to this group?

men should be able to fix cars, know how to change their own oil, tune up , help girls change flat tires if they get a flat, pour concrete, fix up their HOUSE (condos, apartments don't count)as well as help friends with theirs, mow lawns, have a lot of tools, save people in need (not just call the cops), have BB Q's in a yard, deck or forest preserve & be able to cook ribs, meat no fancy werid spices just good old fashion stuff (patios that hold 5 people don't count). be able to defend your home & your family etc....

if a man is doing what a man is supposed to do.... they don't have time to primp all day long. thats not to say a man can't look or smell good but, moisterizer is for girls & there is a line to be drawn guys should not be going to get facials & pedicueres with their wives. that's what your wives girlfriends are for & if you are going with her you are just another wife or grilfriend not a husband, boyfriend or man.

p.s. this is just my opinion, not saying right or wrong. i assume that there are some metro sexuals that would "b-i-t-c-h" at some of my opinions.

thanks,

ss

Good Personal hygiene is a good thing for any man, but if neither one of us can open a can of soda because it might mess up our manicures, then I would have a problem. I do not want my man to have an opinion on decorating. That is what I like to do. I don't want him to have more hair products than I do. I want to be the girl!! It has been my experience that mertosexual men are very selfish and vain. However, if you have a uni brow, it does not make you a metrosexual if you wax that puppy, or if you have hair coming out of your nose, you need to take care of that. That is my definition of personal hygiene.

some people would consider that my bf is metrosexual, because he is consistent and thorough in grooming (but not to the point of waxing or getting manicures...he does file his nails though :), a great dresser, and doesn't watch American football... and I think it's great. I wouldn't say he's obsessed with his appearance though, and he's definitely not a girly-man. women put a lot of effort into looking good for men, so why should we settle for men who look and/or act like slobs? I think men can care about their appearance and still be masculine!

I would marry a man that was somewhat of a metrosexual. The man I am with now uses moisturizer but he is still a very manly man. I could never date a man that spent more time on his hair than I do though........or spent more time getting ready than me. That would kind of freak me out.

Good personal hygiene is one thing but being obsessed with how you look is another.

From a guy's neutral standpoint it has positive and negative connotations: (+) The man is taking care good care of himself and want to look and feel healthy. (-) The man is not very masculine and is moving away from what the past dominant male has been.

I don't consider myself metrosexual because I don't tweeze my eyebrows, get manicures, pedicures, or cut my hair every week. Many people who are called metrosexual are thought of as being gay but they aren't, they are just more in touch with their sensitive or feminine side.

I just think it's yet another oddball word to categorize people. So what if a guy is obsessed or concerned with how he looks. Why does that need a label?

I am going to create boondockssexual, rough, hillybilly type obsessed with his looks when tramping through the underbursh.

Metrosexual.... been there, dated that! I don't want to be with a man who considers himself pretty? who wants to be with a man who prances in front of a mirror? honestly, these guys are too weak to take care of a woman... I love a rugged man... he doesn't have to be a man of pure muscle... just some... he can't be afraid of manual labor... he can have a few days stubble and be oh so handsome... he doesn't have to have gel in his hair... i like it a lil messy anyways... and a man in a tshirt and jeans ... mmm sign me up!

A metrosexual man is basically a gay man who probably doesn't have sex with men only because they might mess up his hair or tarnish his reputation as "perfect" (according to his own definition).

Men who are obsessed with their own looks are only happy with themselves. Everyone else is time wasted away from the mirror.
