0.05968310468 cubic yards

This one is right. I originally took circumference as diameter... duh. Sorry.

It gets simpler if you just convert everything to yards to begin with.

18" = 0.5 yards
9' = 3 yards
Radius in yards = (0.5/pi)/2 = 0.0795774729
Area of pipe end in yards = pi(0.0795774729 )² = 0.01989436823
volume of pipe in cubic yards = 0.01989436823 x 3 = 0.05968310468

If you are looking for the volume of the pipe then you need to do the following:

(By the way, 18" is 18 inches, and 9' is 9 feet)

1. Find the radius of the pipe in yards.
If circumference is 18", and circumference equals 2 pi radius, the radius is 2.866". 2.866 inches is the same as .0796 of a yard (divide 2.866 by the 36 inches in a yard)
r = .0796 yd

2. Convert the depth of the pipe into yards.
9' is the same as 3 yards (divide 9 feet by the 3 feet in a yard)
Depth = 3 yards

3. Find the volume of the pipe in cubic yards.
Volume = pi*radius^2*height
= (3.14)(.0796)^2(3)
=.0597

I hope this makes sense. Good Luck.

Convert the inches to yards, then apply (Pi)r^2*length.

Circumference=2piR=18inches=18/12x3=0.5yards
R= 0.5/2pi=0.08 yards
D=depth=9feet=9/12 yards=0.75yards
Volume =piR^2D=pi(0.08)^2(0.75)=0.015 cubic yards
