It's difficult to move the snail as he prefers a sunny window sill! He's not come to any real damage yet, but I do worry that it might traumatise him. Do you think snails get traumatised?

Thanks for the link, was really interesting, but don't worry, they're legal in UK, you can even keep them as classroom pets- hypoallergenic without all that fur!

Glue dangly decorations onto your giant African Land Snail's shell, lick the bottom of your snail and stick 'em to the window. He'll still get all the sunshine he wants and the kitten will get some exercise jumping up to bat him down.

Think of all the excitement for your class and the kitten!

You should probably read this before you get into trouble: http://exoticpets.about.com/cs/rarespecies/a/pestsGALs.htm#

Discipline your cat by telling it in a stern voice not to attack your snail. Keep your snail in a cage and when you want it to come out then make sure your cat is not in the room. Simple things like just keeping your cat away from the snail will work. Keep them in seperate rooms.

The more important question is why do you have a Giant African Land Snail?

Get yourself a Rottweiler. Eats the kitten, plays ball with the snail.

If you live in the United States these animals are ILLEGAL to keep as pets. Do not dispose of the animal yourself. Contact your nearest Wildlife Service Center.

Shouldn't your snail be kept in a tank? If it is placed in a tank or cage the kitten won't be able to harm it.

Give the snail a laser.

Or just bop your kitten on the head whenever he starts playing with the snail, and tell him/her/it "Bad!" in a firm voice.

Smear the snail in garlic butter every morning, lunchtime and evening. The kitten will hate it and so deter its playful antics,but...when the time comes, your snail will be well prepared for the..er..afterlife.
